WEBSITE ADMINISTRATOR
A Web Administrator is in charge of overseeing and maintaining a website's daily operations. This position include maintaining the website's functionality, adding new content, enhancing performance, and putting security measures in place.
In order to maintain a website's usability, security, and operation, a website administrator is essential. They collaborate closely with other departments to maintain the website current and compliant with rules and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Upkeep of Websites: Keep an eye on and do routine maintenance on the website to make sure it is operational. Maintain the website's software and plugins up to date by performing regular upgrades and fixes. In case of any technical problems, such broken links or server faults, troubleshoot and fix them.
- Management of Content: Content on the website, including text, photos, videos, and other multimedia components, is updated and published. Make sure the material complies with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) best practices and is accurate and up to date.
- Design & Layout of Websites: Work together with developers or designers to enhance the user experience, design, and layout of the website. Make sure the website is responsive and easy to use across a range of platforms and web browsers.
- User Authorization and Access:
- Control user accounts and permissions to allow just those who are allowed access and prevent illegal access. Uphold a system for the procedures of user registration, login, and account recovery.
- Protection: Put security measures in place to guard the website against online dangers including viruses, hacking attempts, and data breaches. Make regular backups of the website's data to guard against losing it in the event of a security breach.
- Performance Enhancement: Keep an eye on the responsiveness and loading speed of your website. Make use of optimizations to enhance user experience and website speed.
- Reporting and Analytics: Utilize website analytics tools to monitor traffic, user activity, and other important parameters. Create and evaluate reports so that data can be used to inform decisions about how to enhance websites.
- Management of Domains and Hosting: Manage hosting account administration including domain registration and renewal. Work together with website hosts to make sure the server resources can accommodate the demands of the website.
- Legal and Compliance Considerations: Verify that the website conforms with all applicable laws and rules, including those pertaining to data protection and accessibility.
Qualifications:
- It's usually desirable to have a bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, or a similar discipline.
- Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
